Coaching Staff

Katlyn Duke was appointed to lead the Buccaneers softball program, an announcement made by CBU Director of Athletics Dr. Ricky Jackson in an official press release dated July 1.

Duke's most recent collegiate coaching role spanned four seasons as Associate Head Coach at South Carolina State University, an NCAA Division I school. In 2025 she was part of the staff that carried the Bulldogs to within a single game of winning their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship in the modern era. She also completed a short coaching assignment at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

In high school baseball and softball coaching, Duke served as head coach at Neshoba Central High School, guiding the team to a 32-0 record in 2021 that produced the USA Today Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 National Championship and the Mississippi Class 5A State title. She also held a coaching position at Nanih Waiya High School.

On the playing field, Duke attended East Central Community College, where she helped the Warriors reach the 2015 NJCAA National Championship game. That season she collected the Marucci Elite Hitter Award and a spot on the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. She also drew All-MACJC recognition, finishing with a .362 average, six home runs, and 44 RBIs. After one year at Mississippi State, she transferred to Mississippi University for Women, where she recorded the program's first hit, RBI, stolen base, and triple. She earned USCAA All-American and All-Academic honors, was selected the university's Female Athlete of the Year, and still holds the single-season marks for RBIs and triples. She additionally contributed to the MUW women's basketball squad's USCAA National Championship run.
